Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park | Rhino Tracking | Top Of The Falls | Evening Game Drive

You’ll arrive in Uganda in the morning hours. You will be picked up by our Nextgen Safaris representative with your name printed on an A4 paper from Entebbe Airport and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park.

You will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. This is one of the most breathtaking activities in Uganda. After the rhino tracking, you will be driven to Murchison Falls National Park. Your first tourist attraction in the park will be the top of the falls. It is an exciting experience that brings you close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes through the narrow crevice below.

One of the few African safari destinations that can be explored by car, by boat, or on guided walks, the 3,480kmĀ² Murchison Falls National Park is dominated geographically by the Nile River and the 43m-high waterfall after which it is named. You’ll see different animals and a good range of aquatic birds.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive | Boat Cruise | Birding | Evening Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park

You will set off very early at 6:00 am. You will leave for a morning game drive. After the game drive, you will head back to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark (between 2 pm and 4 pm) on a three-hour boat cruise on the Nile. This boat cruise offers an amazing view of the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic birds can be seen along the shores of the river.

Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their nightā€™s rest or the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.

Day 3: Travel to Kibale National Park | Community Walk

After breakfast, you’ll be traveling from Murchison Falls National Park, driving Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. You’ll drive through Hoima, then Kyejonjo district, and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. You will either have lunch on your way.

On arrival, you’ll drive to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a community walk and cultural interaction. It is located in the Magombe swamp. This area is recognized for an extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primate species like the red Colobus monkey, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red-tailed monkey, and the Lā€™Hoest monkey.

Youā€™ll go on a guided walk in the community-managed Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

The tracking will start early and take you about two to three hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees.
The opportunity to see chimpanzees in the wild is one of the most memorable of all safari activities. Getting close to these creatures that share so much of our DNA is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the excitement of walking through the forest and knowing that they are close will stay with you forever.

After the trek, you will go back to the resort for rest.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park | Boat Ride | Evening Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you’ll depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a huge park where wildlife and people coexist in harmony. You will have lunch on your way.

On arrival, you will go for a boat ride. You will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Some of the best wildlife viewings are done on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, passing squacco herons, pied kingfishers, large numbers of buffalo and hippo, crocodiles, and many different bird species and large mammals. This is one of the most memorable experiences from the park. After the boat ride, you will go for an evening game drive.

You’ll explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s best all-round safari destination. In addition to being home to four of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo), this biodiverse park is studded with wetlands that support an astonishing 5,000 hippos along with large flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and other aquatic birds.

Day 6: Ishasha Sector | Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park| Batwa Cultural Interaction

After an early morning breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the Ishasha sector for the tree-climbing lions on the Kasenyi Plains. It is time to go to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth: Ishasha. This area is famous for its tree-climbing lions.

When you arrive in Ishasha you will first try to spot the lions in one of the huge trees. The Ishasha sector is notably recognized for its resident tree-climbing lions which are an exceptional attraction and one of the highlights of all safaris taken within Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the southern section of this park, the lions are now and again spotted hanging on branches of huge fig trees whereas the Uganda Kob (which are the major food to these lions) graze in the plains of the Ishasha sector. After you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking | Travel to Lake Bunyonyi, Lake with 29 Islands

After breakfast, you’ll head out with the packed lunches to the park head offices with your guide, and have a briefing about the doā€™s and donā€™ts while in the park with gorillas. Afterward, you’ll head out for gorilla trekking through the mist rain forest, trekking can take 2 hours or up to 6 hours and this is based on the location of the gentle giants. Make sure you carry enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, and rain jackets.

At the end of this adventure, you’ll return to the lodge to shower and relax. Thereafter, you’ll check out in the evening for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which twisting water body dotted with 29 islands with various shapes and sizes scattered across the water will amaze you. Dammed by a lava flow 8,000 years ago, Bunyonyi is a flooded river valley that extends for 25km from north to south but is nowhere more than 5km wide. The absence of hippos and crocodiles means swimming is safe; itā€™s also resulted in an unusually dense population of otters.

Day 8: Travel To Rwanda | Transfer to Musanze | Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Rwanda-Uganda border and then transferred to Musanze. You will have lunch on the way, you will visit the community cultural Village to enjoy the Rwandan culture including the traditional dance. Ibyā€™iwacu Cultural Village is a non-profit umbrella organization that aims to improve the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Rwandaā€™s Volcanoes National Park through the provision of conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development, and livelihood-based projects.

Rwandaā€™s third-largest settlement, Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri) is an agreeable highland town best known as a base for hiking and tracking gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. The spectacular Virunga Mountains are the setting for Volcanoes National Park. This is Africa’s sixth-highest mountain range ā€“ the tallest volcano, Karisimbi, rises to 4,507m ā€“ and one of its most biodiverse.

Day 9: Travel to Akagera National Park | Boat Ride

After breakfast, you will be driven southwards to Akagera National Park. You will have lunch on your way, you will have a short game drive on your way to a boat cruise.

The park hosts several big mammals with the most sought-after being lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and hippos, which will provide for great photographic moments. The park has in the recent past made great strides in conservation by engaging the community through community tours.

It may come as a surprise to learn that Rwandaā€™s premier savannah reserve now ranks among those select safari destinations to harbor all the iconic Big Five. Akagera National Park supports thriving populations of lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and black rhinos, alongside giraffes, zebras, warthogs, a wide variety of antelope, and 550 bird species. You’ll take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.

Day 10: Morning And Evening Game Drive In Akagera National Park

We arise early and leave right after breakfast for a game drive in the northern part of Akagera National Park. We will be searching for big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos. The park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a birder’s haven with over 500 bird species in the park.

Day 11: Travel To Kigali | City Tour | Genocide Memorial Visit | Fly To Kenya

You’ll be transferred to Kigali for a city tour visiting the Genocide Memorial site which gives a brief history of the country you are visiting. Rapidly growing Kigali, with its lively arts scene, cheerful craft markets, and wealth of museums, is the ideal starting point for exploring the Land of 1000 Hills.

After the Genocide Center tour, then you’ll be transferred to the Kigali Airport for your scheduled flight to Kenya. Upon arrival at 9 pm from Kigali Airport, you will be met by our Nextgen Safaris representative with your name printed on an A4 paper will welcome you at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, and later you will be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi.

Nairobi is a fascinating introduction to modern Kenyan life, with its fine restaurants, hotels, bars, and nightclubs. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy some excellent museums, wildlife attractions, markets, and shops.

Day 12: Travel to Lake Naivasha | Boat Ride

You’ll wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and then check out and leave for Lake Naivasha. On arrival in Lake Naivasha, you will check in at your hotel, and then get out for an evening boat ride.

One of the most beautiful of Kenya’s Rift Valley lakes, Lake Naivasha is a pretty place where you’re likely to see hippos, and where zebras and giraffes roam the lakeshore. It’s a lovely interlude during your safari.

Day 13: Hellā€™s Gate National Park For Bike riding | Lake Nakuru National Park | Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, you will enjoy bike riding at Hellā€™s Gate National Park which will take about 2 hours. You can expect a different experience in Hell’s Gate National Park than in any other Kenyan park. With no predators here, you can get out of your vehicle to enjoy the gorge scenery and look for zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffalos, and rock hyrax.

You will be driven to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving at your hotel in the afternoon. After lunch, you will head out for an evening game drive. You’re in for a real treat when you visit Lake Nakuru National Park. It’s one of the best places anywhere for seeing both black and white rhinos, but there are other highlights as well, including the possibility of seeing lions (some even climb trees here), leopards, flamingos, and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. Rich birdlife, pretty acacia forests, and a towering escarpment overlooking the lake all add to the natural drama.

Day 14: Morning and Evening Game Drive in Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have breakfast and then depart for the morning game drive. You will return to the lodge for lunch and head out in the evening for an evening game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here.

The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley. The sight of at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink.

Day 15: Travel to Masai Mara National Reserve| Maasai Cultural Interactions | Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, you’ll head out to Masai Mara. You will go through the floor of the Rift Valley arriving in the evening. On arrival in Maasai Mara, you will visit the local Maasai village for a cultural tour. You’ll learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people. An overnight stay at the Maasai village can be organized upon request.

Afterward, you will go for the evening game drive. Masai Mara National Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe over 450 species of animals have been recorded here.

Day 16: Hot Air Balloon safari (Optional Activity) | Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

You’ll spend more time exploring the stunning natural landscapes and extraordinary wildlife of the Masai Mara National Reserve. After breakfast, the whole day is spent in the park with a packed lunch and in search of its well-known predators and their opponents like zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, and other animal species.

The Masai Mara National Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalos, leopards, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants.

Day 17: Transfer From Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park | Evening Game Drive

You’ll go to Tanzania’s borders with packed lunches. You’ll meet Tanzania driver/guide change safari car and immigration formalities and drive to Serengeti National Park with your packed lunches.

On arrival in Serengeti, you will have an evening drive. You’ll discover just why so many safari visitors fall in love with the Serengeti. Keep an eye out for big cats, even bigger elephants, and almost every kind of safari wildlife you can imagine. You might also see giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and hundreds of species of birds, and that may all just be before breakfast. Day 19: Travel to Ngorongoro Crater | Evening Game Drive

After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with packed lunches. You will go through the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands to the base of the Rift Valley Escarpment; a dramatic bluff nearly 2,000 ft high. You will have an evening game drive.

You will learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano ā€“ quite apart from the altitude ā€“ will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail carries you onto the crater floor where a unique wildlife offering is added to the sheer beauty of the experience. Youā€™ll share the sunken ecosystem of the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos, and hippos. Day 20: Travel to Lake Manyara National Park | Game Drive

You will depart Ngorongoro and go to Lake Manyara National Park. Here lies a narrow belt of acacia woodland and a floodplain that is filled seasonally by Lake Manyara. Encompassing this area is Lake Manyara Park which is often overlooked, but game-rich and best known for its tree-climbing lions.

You’ll walk along the main street of Mto Wa Mbu which is strung out along the road close to the gate for Lake Manyara National Park. Itā€™s a busy and engaging little town where safari tourists mingle with Tanzanians from all across the country. Youā€™ll soon get a feel for the diversity of tribal cultures (members of all of Tanzaniaā€™s 120 tribal groups live here) and the sometimes frenetic, sometimes laid-back pace of local life.
