Day 1: Arrival Zambia | Travel to South Luangwa National Park | Thrilling Game Drive

Upon arrival at Mfuwe International Airport in Zambia, our Kubwa Five Safaris guide will welcome and pick you up. You will recognize our guide as they will hold an A4 paper with your name printed on it. From here, you will be transferred to South Luangwa National Park.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. Following this, prepare for an exhilarating game drive in the park, renowned for its high density of wildlife and impressive population of leopards. This unique wildlife experience is sure to leave you in awe. Dinner and an overnight stay are at Time + Tide Chinzombo.

Day 2: Walking Safari | Evening Game Drive in South Luangwa National Park

After breakfast, you will head out on a bush walk with an armed guide to discover a level of detail of the surrounding area you simply cannot experience from the safety and comfort of a safari vehicle. After the walking safari, head back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

You will head out for another game drive in South Luangwa National Park in the evening. South Luangwa National Park is at the end of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. The river winds through the vast parklands, creating epic landscapes. This abounding natural beauty also attracts wildlife, and huge concentrations of big game, such as lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and many other animal species, can be found here. Dinner and overnight stay are at Time + Tide Chinzombo.

Day 3: Morning Drive in South Luangwa National Park | Fly to Lusaka

After breakfast, we will head out on a final morning game drive in South Luangwa National Park. Once the game drive is over, you will be transferred from Mfuwe to Lusaka to catch your flight. You will have dinner and spend the night at the lovely Lilayi Lodge.

Day 4: Travel to Lower Zambezi | River Safari | Sunset Cruise

After breakfast, we will depart Lusaka and head to Lower Zambezi National Park. The drive should take about 3 to 4 hours. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and have a short break. Then, you will go on a river safari on the mighty Zambezi River. We will enjoy a sunset cruise to end the day.

As its name suggests, Lower Zambezi National Park is dominated by Africa’s 4th longest river as it flows eastward from Kariba Dam towards its Indian Ocean mouth. Flanked by an ever-mutating network of islands, sandbars, and channels, this compellingly wild stretch of the Zambezi supports high densities of elephant, buffalo, hippo, and crocodile. River safaris also offer exceptional birdwatching, while game drives in the atmospheric winter-thorn forest provide a highly likely encounter with predators, such as lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Your dinner and overnight stay are at Baines’ River Camp.

Day 5: Travel to Livingstone | Siavonga | Visit Choma Museum

After an early breakfast, we will depart for Livingstone. We will have a stopover in Siavonga, a town on Lake Kariba, the biggest man-made lake in the world. We will also tour the Choma Museum, which houses the history of the Tonga-speaking people of Zambia.

Zambia’s former capital, Livingstone, is practically synonymous with the majestic Victoria Falls, a must-see bucket-list stop. The falls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated just 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the town center. Livingstone is also an engaging town to explore in its own right, boasting an interesting mix of early 19th-century architectural landmarks, quirky museums, funky restaurants, well-stocked shops, and lively markets. Day 6: Helicopter Flight over Victoria Falls | Guided Tour Victoria Falls | Game Drive in Mosi Oa Tunya NP

After breakfast, at around 8:00am, you will be picked up for a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls (20 minutes drive one way). Times are flexible, and you can choose the time for this activity. After the scenic flight over Victoria Falls at around 10:00am, you will tour Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. During the tour, the guide will give you all the necessary information on Victoria Falls and Zambezi River, as well as the flora and fauna of the area. Return to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will head out for a game drive and a rhino walk in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, which is located in Livingstone. Mosi Oa Tunya National Park is home to various wildlife species, such as giraffes, zebras, hippos, antelopes, Cape buffaloes, and many more. The rhino walk lets us get closer to the white rhinos in the park. Your dinner and overnight stay are at Avani Victoria Falls Resort.

Day 7: Swimming in Devils Pool | Visit Mukwalantila Village

After breakfast, you will go swimming in Devil’s Pool. Seeing Victoria Falls from an aerial view, it would only be right to become part of it by swimming in Devil’s Pool. This natural pool is formed right on the edge of the falls, literally allowing you to live on the edge.

After the swim, you will visit Mukwalantila Village, about 85 kilometers (53 miles) north of Livingstone. This cultural tour is meant to provide a half-day or full-day insight into a typical Tonga village. A site is earmarked as a campsite for tourists who wish to spend a night in a Zambian Village. This tour is meant to showcase the lifestyle of the Tonga people of the southern province. Depending on the season, they may be plowing, harvesting, or gardening. Day 8: Water Rafting | Sunset Cruise on Zambezi River

After breakfast, you will go water rafting on the Zambezi River. Test your courage by taking on the magnificent rapids, from rapid 1 to rapid 22, with some rapids rated Grade V. After a long day navigating the Zambezi rapids, we will relax on a sunset cruise on the upper Zambezi with some drinks and snacks and enjoy the beautiful picture that nature will paint as the sun sets. Your dinner and overnight stay are at Avani Victoria Falls Resort.

Day 9: The Last Day With Us | Transfer to Airport | Flight Back Home

After breakfast, you will head to town for shopping and lunch. Afterward, you will be dropped off at Livingstone International Airport (now Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport) for your scheduled flight back home. We look back on our time together and the wonderful safari memories that we have shared. It has been a fantastic journey, and although we say goodbye as your tour ends, we look forward to welcoming you back to us again one day.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON A ZAMBIA SAFARI
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All visitors to Zambia must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveller.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Zambia Embassy or Consulate.
LANGUAGE:English
TIME: GMT +3
VOLTAGE: 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH; East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure we are notified prior to travel
GRATUITIES: As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following: The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
