6 Days Kidepo and Karamojong Culture Overview

6 Days Kidepo and Karamojong Culture tour is a combined wildlife safari experience that will take place in Kidepo valley national park and also a cultural tour with the Karamojong people who live in the north eastern part of Uganda. During the safari you will engage in activities such as game drives in Kidepo national park, a nature walk and visit to Moroto. This tour will start and end in Kampala.

Detailed 6 Days Kidepo and Karamojong Culture Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and welcome you for your safari. Your luggage will be taken to the car and your guide will drive you to the hotel for check in.

Day 2: Drive to Moroto

After having breakfast at the hotel in Kampala, your guide will pick you up ad you will start the journey to Moroto. You will drive using the eastern route of Uganda via Mabira forest and Jinja as well as other towns in the east. You will have a stop for lunch and also to stretch before continuing to Moroto to check in at the hotel.

Day 3: Nature walk and traditional village experience

You will have breakfast at the lodge ahead of a nature walk experience around Moroto on this day and enjoy an experience of getting close to the natural surroundings.

After lunch, you will also engage in a traditional village experience firsthand one of Uganda’s last living traditional cultures. During the visit to the village, you will experience traditional life, domestic duties and colorful dances and games and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Kidepo national park

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will start your drive to Kidepo national park which takes about 4 hours. On arriving in the park, you will be driven to the hotel for check in and also have lunch.

You will also on this day engage in a game drive in Kidepo national park and search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, buffalos among others and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day in Kidepo

You will wake up early for a morning game drive around the savannah plains of Kidepo national park. In the morning the wildlife species are easily seen as they move in the wild and you will also have lunch before continuing your search for more wildlife species in the national park such as elephants, zebras, buffalos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elands, oribi, hyenas, jackals among others. After the game drives, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Drive to Kampala and Departure

After breakfast at the lodge, you will start your journey back to Kampala with some stops along the way and you will also have lunch enroute. Your guide will drop you off at the airport or hotel in Kampala which will bring the tour to an end.
