Day 1: Entebbe

You will be met and greeted at Entebbe International Airport, where your Uganda safari adventure begins. Our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with any arrival formalities. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where you will receive a briefing about your upcoming safari.

Day 2: Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. You may stop over at the Rhino Sanctuary for an opportunity to observe rhinos. These rhinos were reintroduced after their extinction in the 1970s due to poaching. A local ranger guide will lead you on foot for an up-close encounter with these animals for approximately 1.5 hours. Proceed to Masindi town for lunch (cost not included) and later continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

Arise very early in the morning for your open-roof vehicle game drive on the northern bank of the Nile River, which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife in the area. Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, and waterbucks. After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream on the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, stopping just a few meters from the Devil’s Cauldron. Marvel at the schools of hippos and crocodiles. Over the 17km stretch, you may see elephants, waterbucks, and Uganda Kob. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you’ll pack your lunch at the lodge and then begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside, passing traditional homesteads, farms, and tea estates. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon and check-in. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 5: Kibale National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll transfer to the starting point of your chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale is believed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the rainforest in search of wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, and many more. After lunch, head to Bigodi for an afternoon swamp walk.

Day 6: Kibale National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. Your expert driver-guide will take you through the park, where you might spot some animals. Upon arriving at the lodge, you will have a two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This cruise passes through high concentrations of hippos and offers the best viewing platform for photography and bird viewing. Your overnight stay will be at the lodge.Main

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today’s early morning game drive features the massive Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop and provides excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, Cape buffalo, and many more. This game drive, along with the earlier boat trip, are memorable methods of discovering Uganda’s vast wildlife.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, pack your bags and drive through the Ishasha plains for your final visit with tree-climbing lions and other wildlife before heading out of Queen Elizabeth National Park and on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through the Kigali Highlands with its terraced hillside. Check into the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 9: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll make your way to the starting point for a briefing about your upcoming gorilla trekking adventure. You will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. Tracking begins from the site where gorillas were encountered the day before. You will follow the gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover the many species they share the forest with. Later you’ll return to the lodge for rest.

Day 10: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Jinja

After breakfast at 8:00am, you’ll drive to Jinja with a stopover at the equator for a water experience. Here you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time. Later, you’ll pay a visit to the Mpigi royal drum makers, where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations. You will arrive in Jinja in the evening.

Day 11: Jinja

Today you will go on a boat ride to the source of the Nile River. You will also get to see the old dam and Mahatma Gandhi Monument in the afternoon. Later you may choose to relax at the lodge or partake in optional activities such as white water rafting or horseback riding (among others).

Day 12: Jinja – Entebbe

Wake up to a relaxed breakfast. Later in the afternoon you will transfer to Entebbe for dinner and your overnight stay. Relax at the hotel as you enjoy the cool winds and the sound of the waves from Lake Victoria. The sunset over the lake is breathtaking. Entebbe is known for its cool and calm atmosphere.

Day 13: Entebbe

After an early breakfast you will transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Ugandan Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY:

Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.

CLOTHING:

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration. 

HEALTH;

East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure we are notified prior to travel

As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following:

The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day

Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
