Detailed 7 Day Masai Mara, Gorilla & Chimpanzee Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi / Masai Mara (Approx 4-6 hrs drive
On arrival at Jomo Kenya Airport, you will be met by driver guide for the drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve.
This is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is in the northern extension to the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest. Arrive for lunch at the camp and later depart for an evening game viewing drive until sunset in this spectacular place of breathtaking sceneries, never-ending plains and the most abundant variety of wildlife remaining anywhere in the world.
The landscape is made up of rolling savannahs dotted with patchy shrubs and bush thickets. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodgeor similar (full board)

Day 2: Masai Mara
Spend a further two days of game watching with morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife is abundant in the Reserve with the gentle grasslands ensuring that animals are never out of sight.
Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. Every year the Mara plays host to the world’s greatest natural spectacle; The Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. The big cats – lion, leopard, and cheetah – follow the wildebeest, essentially their main source of food, into the Mara. The Mara at this time is literally packed with wildlife, providing lucky visitors on safari with superb sightings of game. Meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge

Day 3: Transfer from Masai Mara to Bwindi via Kisumu/Entebbe
Today, you will have breakfast, and later drive to the airstrip for a flight to Kisumu onward to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Entebbe for clearing immigrations arriving Bwindi late evening. Overnight Mahogany Springs.

Day 4:Â Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park
After breakfast with you packed lunch, you will be driven to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla tracking. Gorilla family allocation depends on your fitness, interest and age. Please endeavor to communicate to your guide your interests so he can try and request for you a suitable group before you begin the trek into the forest.
 Proceed to the park to headquarters to join other clients for briefing and then to the forest to trek the gorillas. Once you find them, you are allowed one hour of photography and observation before returning back to the lodge. Gorilla tracking is/can be a tedious exercise and therefore requires a level of fitness but is an amazing experience of a life time.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibaale National Park for overnight at Papaya Lodge. This journey will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park with chances of spotting some wild game as we drive through. You will have a chance to cross the equator and proceed for lunch in Fort Portal town and later to your lodge for overnight.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking In Kibaale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibaale National Park for briefing and then chimpanzee tracking in the forest. This park is popular for primates and birds. There have been 12 registered primate species so far in this park. Chimpanzees live in communities of 50-150 individuals but break up into small parties during the day to reduce on competition for food. You will be allowed one hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the lodge. In the afternoon, take a wetland walk in Bigodi village.Â

Day 7: Depart for Entebbe for your flight out.
After breakfast, you will drive to Entebbe International Airport in time to catch departure flight home.
