3-Day Rwanda and Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari
Arrival for Gorilla Trekking Safari
This 3-day Rwanda to Uganda gorilla trekking safari will start from Kigali and cross the Rwanda border to Uganda. Enter the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will do the gorilla trekking in any of the sectors that have availability. You will also do the Batwa cultural experience.
You’ll be collected from the airport.
Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kisoro/Kabale in Uganda
You will be met by your safari guide in Kigali, Rwanda who will drive you straight to the Uganda/Rwanda border of Cyanika/Katuna. In the process, you will traverse the lush countryside dotted with undulating hills that have qualified Rwanda as the land of a thousand hills. You will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the afternoon and check into your lodge.
Later, go on the Batwa cultural trail. You will go through their villages to have an experience of how they go about their daily routine activities. You’ll be amazed by the way they skillfully cultivate the hillsides and how they care for their animals (cows) which are a prime source of pride.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the do’s and don’ts during gorilla trekking, where after you will proceed to the gorilla trail. Gorilla trekking normally lasts between 2 and 8 hours (or sometimes even a day) to encounter the gorillas. However, you will be allowed to stay in the presence of these awesome apes for at least an hour. It is advisable that you carry a packed lunch (which will be provided) as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas.
Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive will be through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as “the Switzerland of Africa” because of its unique and cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in Western Uganda. It is the second-deepest lake in Africa at 900 meters deep, and is also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzia-free.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali
After an early breakfast, you will take a boat ride on the lake and tour different islands. We then head to the border to cross to Rwanda. We will drop you off in Kigali.
