Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and Check into your accommodation in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our Nextgen Safaris team who will later privately transfer you to your boutique hotel or luxury lodge in Entebbe, where the remainder of the day is reserved for rest and relaxation after your international journey, allowing you to ease into your honeymoon at a gentle pace while enjoying views of Lake Victoria or tranquil garden surroundings.
Day 2: Transfer or Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, either by a scenic road transfer through Uganda’s rolling countryside and highland landscapes or by a scheduled domestic flight for added comfort and efficiency, arriving at your forest lodge set deep within the rainforest, where the afternoon is spent at leisure, preparing mentally and physically for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience ahead.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning, your hotel will provide breakfast such that you get ready for the transfer to the park headquarters. You are expected to be at the park headquarters by 8:00 am local time for briefing on the gorilla trekking etiquette from the park rangers.
It is at this time when allocation of a gorilla family for each 8 members to trek is allocated. If you have any specific needs or are unable to hike for further distances communicate during briefing such that you are allocated a close family.
After briefing, you receive your trekking stick and start the walk to the forest for the experience. Trekking to and from is dependent on where the gorillas spent their previous night, the nearer they are the faster you see them and vice versa. However, when you meet the family, you are allowed to spend only 1 hour seeing them go along with their daily lifestyle.
Take this time to enjoy the experience and record memories using your non flash photography camera. After the one hour you trek back to the park headquarters where you receive a congratulatory certificate and be driven to your hotel by driver.
Lunch can be packed or you return for probably late lunch at the hotel. Accommodation as of previous night.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Relaxation
After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart Bwindi and travel through scenic highlands toward Lake Bunyonyi, widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most romantic and peaceful destinations, arriving at a secluded lakeside lodge overlooking calm waters and mist-covered islands, where the afternoon and evening are dedicated entirely to relaxation, allowing you to unwind through gentle activities or simply enjoy uninterrupted time together in a serene setting.
