To confirm your safari reservation, we first secure your gorilla trekking, gorilla habituation and chimpanzee trekking permits from the respective wildlife authorities. These permits are limited and require full advance payment to confirm.

Once your permits are secured, the rest of your safari booking (lodges, vehicle, driver-guide and park fees) can be confirmed with a deposit or balance payment as per the timeline below.

  • For safaris 60 days or more in advance:
    • A 50% deposit covering permit costs is required to confirm your trip.
  • For safaris less than 60 days away:
    • Full payment is required to confirm your tour, since permits and lodges must be prepaid.

Most of our partner lodges and safari camps require advance payment to confirm reservations.
To secure your itinerary, we recommend completing full payment at least 20–45 days before your safari start date.

If you have already paid for your gorilla or chimpanzee permits, the remaining balance for accommodation and transport can be settled anytime up to 20 days before the trip begins.

However, please note:

If payments are delayed and your chosen lodges sell out, NextGen Safaris cannot guarantee the same property and may propose a comparable alternative.
