10 Days Uganda From Rwanda Safari Overview

This tour starts from Kigali – Rwanda and ends in Entebbe – Uganda. You will be picked from Kigali, transfer (via Cyanika Border) and overnight in Kisoro – Uganda and then transfer to Bwindi where you will have gorilla trekking. Our next stop is Queen Elizabeth NP for safari. There will be an overnight at Kibale NP before continuing to Murchison. From Murchison, we head to Entebbe.

Detailed 10 Days Uganda From Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and drive to Bwindi national park

Your guide will pick you up from Kigali and welcome you for your safari. After a short briefing you will start your journey to Bwindi national park and after crossing the border to Uganda, you will be driven to the lodge for check in.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and optional Batwa cultural tour

Your breakfast will be served early at the lodge and your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. After briefing you will be divided into groups of 8 and allocated rangers and start the trek into Bwindi impenetrable forest and start your search for the gorillas following different trails. You will see many birds and other primates in the forest and when you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them recording photos and videos and observing their behavior. After this encounter, you will return to the park headquarters for your trekking certificates.

You will also engage in an optional batwa cultural tour and interact with the locals, get to learn how they prepare their local food and hunt, gather fruits and also participate in their traditional dance. After this tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven from Bwindi national park to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will engage in an evening game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park on this day and search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, antelopes, hippos, waterbucks, leopards and many others.

You will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay after the game drive.

Day 4: Game drive and Kazinga boat cruise

After an early cup of tea or coffee at the lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park and search for the different wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, waterbucks, impalas, topi, warthogs and many others. You will return to the lodge after the morning game drive for lunch.

You will also engage in a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and enjoy beautiful views of the national park surroundings as well as wildlife species along the water shores such as elephants, hippos, buffalos, crocodiles and different bird species. After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Drive to Kibale national park

You will have breakfast at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park and you will engage in a morning game drive around the park. After the game drive you will be driven to Kibale national park where you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking

You will wake up early for breakfast at the lodge and proceed to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. You will be briefed by the rangers and also divided into groups to begin your search for the chimpanzees in Kibale forest. during the search for the chimpanzees, you will encounter other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and also a variety of bird and butterfly species. You will also learn about the different tree species found in the forest.

An hour will be spent with the chimpanzees when you find them in Kibale forest and you will enjoy taking photos and recording the chimpanzees and observing their behavior. After completing the activity, you will return to the park headquarters where you will receive your certificates. You will also engage in the bigodi tour and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Drive to Murchison falls national park

After breakfast at the lodge in Kibale national park, you will start the journey to Murchison falls national park with a stop for lunch. You will continue to the lodge in Murchison where you will check in and have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Game drive and bottom of the falls boat cruise

You will wake up early for a morning wildlife viewing experience with your guide as you enjoy a game drive in the savannah plains of Murchison falls national park. During the game drive, you will search for wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, topi, bushbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, hippos among others in the national park.

After the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for a bottom of the falls boat cruise which is popular during safaris to Murchison falls park. The boat cruise takes about 2 hours and you will enjoy the sunset, watching hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, elephants, buffalos and giraffes by the water shores as well as other wildlife and bird species. You will also learn more about the national park during the boat cruise after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Morning game drive and top of the falls hike

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive around Murchison falls national park in search of different wildlife species like elephants, lions, buffalos, antelopes, giraffes and many others.

You will also enjoy a hike to the top of the Murchison falls on this day and in the evening drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Drive to Entebbe

After having breakfast at the lodge, your guide will drive you to Entebbe and drop you off at the airport which will bring the tour to an end.
