Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your incredible 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Adventure begins as you land at Kigali International Airport, where you will be greeted by a representative from Nextgen Safaris. After a warm welcome and a detailed safari briefing, you will meet your professional driver-guide, who will be your companion throughout the journey.
Before setting off for the gorilla sanctuary, enjoy a delicious lunch at New Cactus Restaurant, known for its scenic views of Kigali and a variety of local and international dishes.
Post-lunch, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, often referred to as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Along the way, you’ll pass through vibrant local communities, tea plantations, and terraced farms that reflect the country’s rich agricultural heritage.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Cultural Experience
Rise early for a hearty breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters by 6:30 AM. Here, you will attend a mandatory pre-trek briefing conducted by the park rangers, who will provide insights into the history of the park, gorilla conservation efforts, and the essential dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.

At 8:00 AM, your once-in-a-lifetime adventure begins. Led by expert guides and trackers, you’ll venture into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. As you hike through the lush bamboo forests, you may also encounter golden monkeys, forest elephants, buffaloes, and an array of colorful bird species.
Upon finding the gorillas, you’ll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, play, groom one another, and care for their young.
