6 Days Tanzania Honeymoon Tour Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Canoeing Safari & Sundowner

Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel or lodge for your overnight stay in Arusha. The drive from the airport to your hotel is about 45 minutes. Later, you will be collected for an amazing sunset canoe trip on one of the amazing crater lakes. The lake is surrounded by a forest with various bird species. The sunset is extremely beautiful and romantic, especially for a newly married couple. You will spend 2 to 2.5 hours cruising the lake and listening to the nearby bird songs.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

As arranged with your guide, you will start the day by driving for 2 hours to the gate of Tarangire National Park after breakfast. Tarangire is famous for its big elephants. In the park, you may come across mammals such as big cats, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. It is also home to hundreds of species of birds flying from one point to another.

Tarangire National Park has a river called the Tarangire River which flows the whole year round. During the dry season, the river attracts many animals, and this makes spotting wildlife easy. You will have a picnic lunch while appreciating the beauty of the park. After the full-day game drive, you will go to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Central Serengeti National Park

Today, you will start driving early in the morning after breakfast to Serengeti National Park. The park is known as the “endless plain”, denoted by the Maasai language. You will drive via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will have a few minutes to view the crater. After the break, you will proceed to Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive where you will have opportunities to view the herds of mammals and other fabulous wildlife animals.

Central Serengeti and the Seronera River Valley are the “heart” of the wildlife area throughout the year. This area is a permanent home for a number of wildlife such as the “Big Five”. During the evening, you will drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Amazing Serengeti

Soon after breakfast, you will have the opportunity of a full-day game drive dedicated to spotting wildlife at various points in the Serengeti. The mornings and evenings are always the best moments to spot animals. You will descend into the home of the wildlife in Serengeti – the “endless plains”. You will find all animals in great numbers from the “Big Five” to the “Little Five”. Aside from the big cats, many other predators can be spotted including the spotted hyena (especially in the morning), jackal, and more. In the evening, you will have dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Activity: Serengeti balloon safari and sun downer dinner.

Day 5: Final memorize of Serengeti and Transferred to Ngorongoro Crater

Memorize the final game drive in Serengeti by taking a lot of pictures. The Serengeti is always rich in big cats, buffalos, zebras, hippos, and a lot of bird species. You exit the Serengeti and head to the border of the Ngorongoro Crater which will welcome you the following day. Later, you will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Today is an amazing day as you descend to the floor of the crater which is about 102 square miles (264 square km) in size. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unfilled, intact and inactive volcano in the world. This impressive crater is over 2,000 feet (600 meters) deep. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has about 20,000 large mammals and other small wild animals, as well as various species of birds. The crater also has a forest habitat which is home to buffalos, zebras, and other herbivores, as well as many birds’ nests.

You will spend the day in the crater with a picnic lunch. Later, your guide will drive you back to the airport for your flight. That will be the end of your tour. Thank you for coming on safari with us. We hope to see you soon and wish you a safe journey.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All visitors to Tanzania must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Tanzanian Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY:

Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.

CLOTHING:

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration. 

HEALTH;

East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following:

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
