This 7 Days South Africa and Mozambique Beach combines a short stay in a private concession of the Kruger National Park, with a longer stay in Mozambique. You will have an opportunity to view excellent game sightings and relax on white-sanded beaches. Day 1: Fly to the Kruger Park

Arrive at the airport in Johannesburg in time to connect with the domestic flight to Nelspruit (MQP), located not too far from Kruger National Park. You are then transferred by road inside the park and within a private concession. Check in at Jock Safari Lodge Main Camp and relax before the afternoon game drive. As the very first private concession granted within Kruger National Park, Jock Safari Lodge is an original safari legend.

Located in Kruger’s southern region, where the Mitomeni and Biyamiti Rivers meet to become one, it will feel like you’re stepping back to South Africa’s gold rush era. Return to the lodge in time for a hearty dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Game viewing

Today you can experience a morning and an evening game drive. Traversing through the concession, the wildlife is sometimes staggering in its diversity. Enthralling sightings of elephants, prides of lions, as well as a sea of buffalo horns rising from the grass as they lie resting in the growing heat, await you. At dusk, a vantage point is chosen to overlook one of the many breathtaking views of the Kruger National Park.

Sun downers are enjoyed while tales of the bush are told. A glimpse of what this unique wilderness has to offer is seen while being entranced by the ever-changing colors of the sky as the sun slips into the time-slot of tomorrow. Your meals are enjoyed at the camp and you have a few hours to relax by the pool or read a book on your deck.

Day 3: Fly to Mozambique

Have an early breakfast before the road transfer back to Nelspruit Airport in time for the scheduled fixed-wing plane transfer to Maputo. From here, a representative will meet you for your road transfer to the White Pearl Resort, where you will be spending the next four nights. Welcome to paradise! Nestled in a sheltered bay on Mozambique’s Lagoon Coast, poised amongst the dunes on timber stilts, the resort has been sensitively designed to take advantage of the natural setting while protecting the fragile ecosystem.

Cool, clean lines, contemporary furniture and a palette inspired by the surrounding coastal landscape, make for a superb getaway. Your meals and selected beverages are included, as well as some resort activities. Chat to the resort manager and plan your days as per your preferences.

Day 4-6: Beach stay

Your days are filled with activities, or simply relax on the beach, it is your choice. Back at the resort, stretch out on one of the comfortable loungers while you indulge in a refreshing cocktail with views over the great expanse of ocean and white sands. Enjoy your meals on the wide deck soaking up the sun. Dinners are served al-fresco as you listen to the sound of the waves breaking nearby. You can also spend some time snorkeling the rich sealife around Ponta Mamoli, as you will feel you have been transported into a giant natural aquarium. Discover spectacular underwater displays of colorful corals and lively fish as you float in the azure waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 7: Departure

Today you check out of the resort and will be transferred by road to Maputo Airport where you can connect to your onward flight. An optional transfer by helicopter can be arranged at an additional cost. Contact us to extend your trip or to book a return flight to Johannesburg.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON A MOZAMBIQUE SAFARI
 
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All visitors to Mozambique must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveller.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Mozambique Embassy or Consulate.

VOLTAGE: 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
 
CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
 
CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
 
BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
 
WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
 
HEALTH; East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
 
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure we are notified prior to travel
 
GRATUITIES: As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following: The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day.
 
PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
