4 Days Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Scenic Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
From Kigali: Approx. 4 hours (270 km) via Cyanika Border
From Entebbe: Approx. 9 hours (470 km) via Mbarara & the Equator at Kayabwe

Begin your 4 Days Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation journey with a warm welcome from your NextGen Safaris driver guide. If starting from Entebbe, enjoy a photo stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe, where you can witness the famous “water swirl” experiment and enjoy a coffee break.
Continue your journey through rolling hills, tea plantations, and local markets before arriving in the lush highlands of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest — the “Home of the Mountain Gorillas.”
Check-in at Bweza Gorilla Lodge, nestled at the edge of the forest with panoramic views and cozy cottages surrounded by nature.
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: Bweza Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Nkuringo Sector

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Nkuringo Sector briefing point (approx. 30 min drive).
Join your Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger team for a detailed briefing on trekking guidelines before entering the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family.
The trek may take 2–5 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but every step through the forest is rewarded with sightings of birds, butterflies, and other primates. Once you find the gorillas, spend a magical one hour observing them feed, play, and interact — an encounter that stays with you forever.
Return to your lodge for relaxation, followed by an optional community walk or cultural performance by the Bakiga people.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: Bweza Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)
Day 3: Gorilla Habituation Experience – Rushaga Sector

Today offers one of the most exclusive primate experiences in the world — the Gorilla Habituation Experience in Rushaga Sector.
After breakfast, drive to the UWA offices for registration and a short briefing before entering the forest with researchers, trackers, and rangers.
Unlike the standard gorilla trek, this activity allows you to spend up to 4 hours with a semi-habituated gorilla family still getting accustomed to human presence. You’ll learn to identify individuals, observe behaviors, and even take part in data collection.
Return to the lodge later in the afternoon for relaxation, storytelling, and dinner overlooking the misty canopy of Bwindi.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: Bweza Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)
Day 4: Return to Kigali or Entebbe
After breakfast, bid farewell to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and start your return journey.

If heading to Kigali, enjoy a scenic 5-hour drive across the Rwanda-Uganda border, with photo stops at Lake Bunyonyi or local craft markets.
If returning to Entebbe, retrace your route through Mbarara with a lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Centre before continuing to the airport or your hotel.
Your guide will ensure a smooth border crossing or airport drop-off depending on your departure schedule marking the end of our 4 Days Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation Safari.
