22 days Tanzania wildlife and Zanzibar holiday

Day 1; arrival

You will be start the safari with pick up from Jomo Kenyatta international airport by our company representative who will welcome you for the safari. You will proceed to the hotel in Nairobi for check in.

Day 2; drive to Masai Mara

Departure from Nairobi for Masai Mara. Picnic lunch in route in Narok. Upon arrival to the camp / lodge. After a short rest and if there is enough time, we do a game drive in search of the lions, leopard, cheetah, buffalo and other game. Return to the camp / lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3; game drives in Masai Mara

After breakfast an early morning game drive. In the early morning, wild animals such as felines have just woken up and are hunting for prey. This is often the right time to watch a lion catch prey. However, it is also a matter of luck. After the game drive, you will have lunch and later engage in another game drive in Masai Mara then continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4; hot air balloon safari/Masai village tour (optional) and game drives in Masai Mara

A full day with game drives, optional a walk or a visit to a Masai village in between meals. The Masai live in a manyata where the houses are built of clay and cow dung. Dried by the sun, it forms a very hard mass that protects against rain and wildlife and during the visit you will experience their way of life and culture. Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge.

OPTION 2

You will wake up as early as 05:00 am and your guide will drive you to the landing point for a briefing for the hot air balloon safari. You will enjoy a 1 hour balloon ride over the Masai Mara plains and enjoy the aerial views and also see wildlife species.

You will also engage in a game drive in Masai Mara reserve and search the plains for elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards and many others before returning to the lodge to relax and have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5; drive to Serengeti national park

After breakfast at the lodge in Masai Mara national reserve, you will start the drive to Isebania border to cross to Serengeti national park. Your Tanzania guide will meet you at the border and drive you to the lodge in northern Serengeti for check in and a relaxing evening.

Day 6; game drives in northern Serengeti

You will have breakfast early at the lodge and spend the rest of the day engaging in game drives around Serengeti national park. You will go with your packed lunch and enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive as you search for wildlife like wildebeests, lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, zebras and many others. After the evening game drive, you will be driven to the lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7; drive to central Serengeti

You will have breakfast at the lodge in northern Serengeti and your guide will drive you to the central part of the national park to explore more of the wilderness and see wildlife species like the big five and many others. You will have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 8; game drives in central Serengeti

Have breakfast then go for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti plains. The game drive takes you along the Sogore River circuit which twists into the plains south of the Seronera River. Since this is a water area, wildlife collects in this area to quench its thirst.

Some of the wildlife animals to look out for here include lions, Thompson gazelle, topi, and cheetahs. After the morning game drive, return to the hotel for lunch or have a picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon take a game drive on the kopjes. After this evening game drive, return to a preferred accommodation facility for dinner and overnight.

Day 9; drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

After breakfast at the lodge in Serengeti, you will start the drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area as you enjoy seeing wildlife species along the way. You will visit the Olduvai gorge on this day and continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10; Ngorongoro crater tour

You will have breakfast early at the lodge and prepare for the game drive in the Ngorongoro crater and search for wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, zebras, hippos, wildebeests, hyenas and many others.

You will also enjoy spectacular views during the game drive in Ngorongoro crater. You will be driven to the lodge after the crater tour for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: drive to Tarangire national park

You will have breakfast at the lodge in Ngorongoro and your guide will drive you to Tarangire national park for a game drive as you search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, giraffes, cheetahs and many others. You will be driven to the lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12; drive to Arusha national park

After breakfast at the lodge in Tarangire national park, you will be driven to Arusha National Park. You will engage in a walking safari in Arusha national park for about 3 hours with an armed ranger guide as you enjoy the nature in the park.

After the nature walk, you will have lunch and later return to the safari vehicle for a game drive around Arusha national park until evening. Your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay after this activity.

Day 13; flight to Zanzibar

After having breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival on the island, you will be welcomed by our company representative and drive to the hotel where you will relax and have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14; stone town tour

You will have a guided tour of Stone town where you’ll see highlights such as the House of Wonders and the Freddie Mercury Museum among others.

Day 15; spice tour

You will engage in a spice tour on Zanzibar island and get to know how the spices are grown on the farms, try out the local food prepared using the spices in the company of a local guide.

Day 16; safari blue experience

You will engage in the Safari Blue Tour is a full day tour from in the south-east of Zanzibar. Our tour will start at early in the morning and drive to Fumba village which is located in the south-west of Stone Town and will begin our adventure starting from here to the Kwale island.

Day 17; snorkeling

The most famous marine conservation area in Zanzibar, Mnemba Atoll Marine Park houses populations of moray eels, lion fish, stingrays, and more, all in clear waters with high visibility. Snap on your snorkel gear and let your guide help you find the aquatic wildlife you came to see on this tour.

Day 18; private sunset Dhow cruise

On this day Enjoy stunning sunset cruise on a local dhow. Sit back, relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean as you hear the ripple of water on the sides of the dhow. Drinks and light snacks will be served.

Day 19; Dolphin tour

You will engage in a dolphin safari which offers you the experience of a lifetime, a chance to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat. The seashore of the fishing village Kizimkazi is the home of several pods of humpback and bottlenose dolphins.

Day 20; swimming with turtles

You will go to a turtle sanctuary and learn about conservation efforts. The turtles are in a natural tidal pool the pond is actually a large, natural tidal pool in the coral rock behind the beach. It was originally set up to rehabilitate and study marine turtles that had been caught in fishing nets, and the project developed to ensure that local baby turtles were also protected.

Day 21; Zanzibar beach

You will spend the day relaxing by the beach and enjoying views of the Zanzibar island and the Indian ocean and later return to the hotel.
