Overview
This safari covers the Great Rift Valley, Africa’s famous canyon, and continues to Lake Nakuru – home of hundreds of thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and numerous other birdlife. It then takes you to the magnificent Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate. The tour ends at the renowned Masai Mara which has been declared the 7th Wonder of the World with its spectacular migrating wildebeest.
Day 1 Masai Mara National Reserve (230km – 5 hours)
We will pick you up from your residence or hotel at 7:30 am and drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration. It is also home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). Have lunch at the camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. The wild animals found in the parks are Maasai giraffe, buffalo, eland, and thousands of plains game including impalas, zebras, and both Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.

Day 2 Masai Mara National Reserve
The full day is spent viewing the great predators and exploring the park’s amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.
During the stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp.

Day 3 Masai Mara National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park (196km – 5 hours)
After breakfast proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. The park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and greater flamingos which literally turn the lake shores into a magnificent pink stretch. The birdlife here is world-renowned. Over 400 bird species exist here including white pelicans, plovers, egrets, and marabou storks. It is also one of the few places in Africa to see the white and black rhino and rare Rothschild’s giraffe. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp.

Day 4 Lake Nakuru National Park– Lake Naivasha (92km – 2 hours)
We’ll have an early breakfast at the camp or lodge and then begin our journey to Lake Naivasha with an en-route game drive in Lake Nakuru. You’ll arrive at your camp or lodge in the early afternoon for lunch. The afternoon is spent on Crescent Island where the 15-minute boat ride sails to this animal sanctuary where herbivores like zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and hippo are found. Later, return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay at your camp.

Day 5 Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
After breakfast, leave the camp or hotel for the extension tour to Hell’s Gate National Park. This is one of the few parks where you can walk or cycle to see the wild animals. There is a Geothermal Power Station at an extra cost of USD$30 and very beautiful scenery. You will admire the park extensively. At 12:00 pm, we will return for lunch and then depart for Nairobi where your tour ends.
