Day 1: Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park.
Pick up from your hotel, briefing on your safari and start for North-western Uganda. You will have a detour of the Rhino Sanctuary established to reintroduce Southern White Rhinos into Uganda. Proceed to sanctuary and track the Rhinos. Lunch at Amuka Lodge and continue with the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will hike to the top of the falls in the afternoon and appreciate nature, this point is perfect for photography.

The lodge is located in the north west of Uganda overlooking one of nature’s best kept secrets, the River Nile, on its journey from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert – here it is suddenly channelled into a gorge only six meters wide, and cascades 43 meters below.

Day 2: Explore Murchison Falls National Park.
Following morning breakfast, head out for a game drive along the Northern circuit and search for wildlife including Nubian giraffes, Lake Chad buffalos, lions, spotted hyenas, savannah elephants, Uganda Kobs, Lelwel’s hartebeest, common warthogs, oribi, bohor’s reedbuck and other small animals. Resident bird species include like black-headed lapwing, blue-headed coucal, giant kingfisher, swamp flycatcher, red-throated bee-eater, and black-billed barbet. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Day 3: Murchison Falls > Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
After breakfast, we will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. Enjoy this scenic drive all the way to Bwindi with stops at places of interest for photography and stretching. Look out for scenic views of Lake Albert, the Rwenzori ranges, Kibale forest, the beautiful Lakes George and Edward, generally the western Albertine rift valley environment. Day 4: Bwindi – Gorilla tracking.
After breakfast, you will have your packed lunch ready then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be assigned a group to track a particular gorilla family. You will be led into the jungle by an armed ranger who will keep in touch with the monitoring team on the ground in order to easily locate the mountain gorillas.
The activity takes between 3-7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will be given ample time to watch them in their natural habitat playing, feeding, resting, and going about their daily life. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Bwindi > Kampala.
Following early morning breakfast, start for Kampala with stops at places of interest for photography and stretching. Lunch in-route and proceed to Entebbe arriving in time for your onward international flight.

All visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler. 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY:
Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER:
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:
Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray
Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
