21 Days East Africa Luxury Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Your adventure begins with a warm reception at Entebbe International Airport, where the vibrant culture and hospitality of the country immediately greets you. As you step off the plane, the tropical air embraces you, setting the tone for the African experiences ahead. Our experienced English-speaking driver guide will transfer you to Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, Kigo, Uganda for relaxation and depending on the time, we can do a Kampala City tour. Otherwise, Dinner and Overnight at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa
Day 2: Golfing at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort Hotel and a City tour
After breakfast, meet up with our Golfing Guide and proceed to the Lake Victoria Golf Club for a prebooked Tee-off time 18 Hole game. In the afternoon after a healthy lunch, tour of the Kampala city and the crafts Markets, or have the afternoon at leisure experiencing Lake Victoria Serena’s Health Club or a dip in the swimming pool. Day 3: Fly to Kihihi Airstrip for Bwindi impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and drive you to Entebbe international airport to catch your charter flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and you will land at Kihihi Airstrips, where your driver/guide will be waiting to transfer you to the Impenetrable Forest for a Night at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge. Overnight at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast you will be taken for briefing on the dos and Don’ts when you meet face to face with rare Mountain Gorillas, and after you will be ready to go for real experience in the impenetrable forest, it’s not an easy exercise because it involves hikes, and for the weak ones we advise you to take Porters to help you during the Gorilla trekking experience while in the jungle.
The trail can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on how the Gorilla groups will have Moved and you will come back to your Lodge to refresh and relax, with another Overnight stay. Overnight at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge. Meals: All Meals Included.
Day 5: Second Gorilla trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Chimpanzee
After the second trekking experience, we will transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP – famously known for its tree-climbing lion population. Once there, undertake a game drive in search of this rare species of lions. The chance of spotting these lions stands at about 60-70% but sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey).
Should you get the chance to spot the lions up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and unforgettable. From Ishasha (south), exit and head to the booked accommodation in the north sector. Check in and take rest. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 6: Kyambura Gorge (Chimpanzee trekking) – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to Kyambura Gorge for chimp trekking. Located approximately 1 km across – at its broadest point and about 100 meters deep, this gorge is drained by River Kyambura. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed with a rich wildlife biodiversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds.
The trekking is generally a 2-4 hr. walk in the forest and will include an hour with the wild community of chimpanzees that have habituated. In the afternoon, you will have a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park, from the open savannah to rainforest, dense papyrus swamps and crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. In the evening, you will fly back to Entebbe for your flight to Nairobi the next day. Overnight at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort Hotel.
Day 7: Fly to Nairobi and transfer to Masai mara
The day will be with enjoying breakfast at your hotel and after you will transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight to Nairobi. Continue your safari adventure as you journey from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Reserve situated in south western Kenya renowned for its breath-taking landscapes and abundant wildlife, making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, followed by an evening game drive, traverse the vast savannahs and grasslands keeping a keen eye out for the wildlife that inhabits this iconic reserve.
The reserve’s natural beauty provides the perfect backdrop for unforgettable safari adventures and photography. Masai Mara is renowned for its high concentration of predators including lions, leopards and cheetahs. The open grasslands provide ideal hunting grounds for these apex predators offering you a thrilling experience to come across predator-prey interactions in the wild. As the sun begins to set, return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and relaxation amidst the sounds of the African bush. Main Destination: Masai Mara National Reserve. Accommodation: Mara Bush Camp.
Day 8: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Awaken to the enchanting melodies of the wilderness as you prepare for a full day of exploration within the Masai Mara National Reserve. After breakfast, embark on exhilarating game drives through the reserve’s diverse landscapes, your guide will make the arrangements for your picnic lunch boxes to maximize your time in the wilderness. Masai Mara is home to the Big Five; lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos, offering you excellent chances to spot these majestic animals during game drives and guided safari.
Beyond its wildlife, Masai Mara National Reserve boasts stunning landscapes including rolling plains, meandering rivers and picturesque acacia trees dotting the horizon. In the evening, immerse yourself in the rich culture of the indigenous Maasai tribe with an optional visit to a traditional Masai Village, engaging with local communities and gaining insight into their way of life before returning to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation. Day 9: Masai Mara – Nairobi and fly to Mt. Kilimanjaro
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Nairobi with a picnic lunch on the way. We will have stopovers in the towns to give you a chance to buy souvenirs. We will arrive late afternoon, taking you to the airport a flight to Kilimanjaro. This marks the end of your beautiful Masai Mara safari. Main Destination: Kilimanjaro International Airport. Accommodation: Arusha Serena Hotel
Day 10: Mt. Kilimanjaro Materuni Hike.
Start your adventure with the short but fascinating drive from Moshi up the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to the village of Materuni, approximately 1,800 m above sea level. This is market garden territory and has the perfect mixture of climate and soil to produce some of the best coffee in Africa. You’ll visit a coffee farm and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested and processed, and you’ll try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. After a delightful coffee break (so much better than the ones at work!) you’ll take a beautiful 45-minute hike through the hills and valleys enroute to the Materuni Falls.
You’ll pass through banana and coffee plantations, up and down mini-valleys, across ridges and through narrow splashing rivulets. Along the way your guide will teach you about local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine, as well as giving you more insight into the local Chagga culture. In the Evening you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation: Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort
Day 11. Golf Day Tournament.
Enjoy an easy breakfast this morning, then be transferred to the Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate clubhouse for your final day of golf. Today is tournament day! Your Tournament Captain will handle player registration and briefing prior to tee off. After 18 holes, there will be a lovely award ceremony in the clubhouse, after which all players will be transferred back to the Golf Safari House in time for a late lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon packing, lounging by the pool and resting.
Day 12: Flight to Serengeti and Visit Masai Village
After a relaxed breakfast, it will be time for your transfer service to the Dolly Airstrip, just a 10- minute drive away, where you will catch your flight to Serengeti. On arrival you will check in at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the world renown Serengeti National Park. Visit the Maasai village, you’ll explore the culture of the great Maasai tribe known for chasing lions off their kill, hunting lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood.
Though these traditions are thing of the past with exception of drinking blood, you can surely learn something. Dinner and overnight Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti on a full board basis. Main Destination: Serengeti National Park. Accommodation: Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
Day 13: Full Day Central Serengeti National Park.
Your day begins with breakfast later followed by an exciting morning hot air balloon safari in the Serengeti. Get ready to encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including lions, wildebeests, leopards, impala, elephants, crocodiles, zebras, and more.
This area teems with massive herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra during the Dry season. The Northern Serengeti also supports an abundance of resident wildlife including lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, and the rare oribi antelope. In the late evening, you will drive back to the Four Seasons Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 14: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater.
After breakfast, we will enter the Ngorongoro Crater. We will see the many animals living within the crater including lions, buffalos, zebras, hyenas, antelopes, and if it’s our lucky day, rhinoceros. We will enjoy a picnic lunch along the crater lake. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest caldera. It was formed after an explosion that occurred approximately 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater floor is 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level.
The area is home to around 30,000 animals and a great variety of birds. In the late evening, you will drive back to the Melia Ngorongoro Lodge for dinner and overnight. Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation: Melia Ngorongoro Lodge. Meals: All Meals Included.
Day 15: Drive back to Arusha
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Arusha City. On arrival, you will head for a horseback ride safari with a guide through the beautiful untouched nature surrounding Mount Meru, at an estate located 45 minutes from Arusha. Less experienced riders stay on wider, dusty paths, from where they can see wildebeests and antelopes grazing.
More experienced riders can explore smaller meandering tracks, spotting a rich array of animals such as zebras, wildebeests, moose and antelopes. You will later check in at Arusha Coffee Lodge. In the evening, you will experience the coffee plantation tour where we can learn how coffee is grown, harvested, dried, and processed into coffee for drinking and human consumption. Accommodation: Arusha Coffee Lodge Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 16: Arusha city tour
Explore the lively city of Arusha with a full-day city tour. In a lovely mix of fun and culture, this tour takes you to the city’s most beautiful and interesting spots. Accompanied by a guide you will explore the best Tanzanite Museum, Cultural Heritage center. Of course, a delicious Tanzanian lunch is included as well as a drink at a local restaurant, then after, visit Maasai market and lastly the famous Arusha public market. Transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 17-20: Explore Zanzibar.
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for a domestic flight to Zanzibar Airport. Next, you will arrive at Isaraya Luxury Over Water Villas. Here, you will check in. In the coming days, you can enjoy Zanzibar, the ocean and relax. Or if you like, you can venture out on one of the many excursions offered. Today after breakfast and check out, a vehicle is awaiting you to take you to the Airport of Zanzibar for your flight back home. On the way, you can stop in Stone Town and walk around while our driver takes care of your luggage. We’ll arrive in time for your check-in at the airport.

GENERAL INFORMATION
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
All visitors to East Africa must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveller (East African Visa). For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Embassy or Consulate.
LANGUAGE: English
TIME: GMT +3
VOLTAGE: 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH; East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

GRATUITIES: As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following: The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day
PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform. Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages. If in doubt, please check with your guide.
