5 Days Livingstone and Chobe National Park Tour Itinerary
Fly into Livingstone. Upon arrival, you will be met by a Nextgen Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel. You will be assisted with luggage by the driver guide from the airport to the hotel. You will spend the rest of your day on leisure. At 4:00 pm, you will be picked up from your hotel to go and enjoy a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River for two hours. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your hotel where you will be also briefed about the tour itinerary.

After breakfast, you will do a walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World. The majesty of Victoria Falls is the major tourist attraction named by the Tonga people as Mosi Oa Tunya meaning the Ā“’Smoke that Thunders’. At 14:00 hours we will take you to the famous Mukuni Village in Livingstone where you will lean so much about Zambian culture and different tribes. You will spend approximately 2 hours and you will also visit the market for shopping, The remainder of the day is spent at leisure.
There is an opportunity of visiting the Zimbabwe side of the falls as an optional activity.

This morning, the trip heads to Chobe National Park in Botswana, approx 100km west of Victoria Falls. It is home to 450 species of birds and the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Clients are picked up from their hotel at 7:10 am for their transfer to Botswana. Guests are met at Kazungula by their guide and are escorted through Immigration formalities. At 9:30 am, guests board the boat and commence a 3-hour boat cruise into the Chobe National Park.
The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic bird life, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephants and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at the Coffee Buzz at 12:30 pm. After a satisfying meal, there is an opportunity to do an afternoon game drive at 3:00 pm. At around 6:00 pm, clients will be taken back to the lodge to rest for the evening.

Guests are woken up as early as 6:30 am with warm water for them to freshen up and a refreshing ādumelaā greeting (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light continental-style breakfast, head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or wild dogs as they are still active at this time and the chances of seeing them are good.
At around mid to late morning, guests return to camp for a delicious ābuffet lunchā and an opportunity to take a break before their afternoon boat cruise at 3:00 pm. At around 6:00 pm, all clients will be back at the camp and have a refreshing shower preparing for their supper.

Clients will be woken up at dawn to prepare themselves for the transfer to Livingstone. After having breakfast, clients will pack and get ready to leave the lodge on the last drive. All clients will be dropped off at their respective airports in Kasane, Victoria Falls and Livingstone. This will mark the end of the trip.

Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.Ā Ā Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.Ā Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the cardās default currency.CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.HEALTH: Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.Ā Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.Ā Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure we are notified prior to travelGRATUITIES: As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following: The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day Driver Guides ā Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day.PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.Ā Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.Ā If in doubt, please check with your guide.
