This 4 Days Queen Elizabeth and Chimpanzee Trekking safari will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a variety of different species of mammals and bird, and the famous Kazinga Channel for boat cruising. Queen Elizabeth National Park is definitely among the world’s most bio diversified wildlife sanctuary featuring leopards, hippos, African elephants and Cape Buffaloes, not forgetting the beautiful lunch cruise along Kazinga Channel.

And to Kibale forest National Park, in this reserve are several spectacular crater lakes and swamps. This park is home to around 13 primates among them you will meet the Chimpanzees which have a DNA close to that of humans, other wildlife species include; 70 species of mammals as well as over 375 bird species.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth

Depart with your guide from Kampala heading southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy a lot of sightseeing’s on the Masaka-Mbarara road including the traditional Ankole long horned cattle, farmlands and numerous tea plantations. On your way you will make a famous stopover at the equator for photography. You will have lunch in Mbarara at Igongo Cultural center.

Then proceed to Queen Elizabeth. En route you will pass via the two twin crater lakes in Bunyaruguru, a unique feature that shows two crater lakes that are separated by a small chunk of Land, then continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game drive and A Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

You’ll start your day with a morning game drive at Kasenyi plains in the northern part of the park. The game drive starts at 6:30 AM and lasts between 3-4 hours in search of lions and other game. You’ll see a variety of other game including elephants, Cape buffaloes, warthogs, leopards, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and many small animals and birds.

After that, you’ll proceed to Kasenyi Salt Lake for relaxing views and photos. Then you’ll drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you’ll go for the 3 pm boat cruise on Kazinga channel. You’ll view schools of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and many animals on the banks plus water birds. After this, you’ll drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Second Game Drive and travel to Kibale Forest National Park

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in the park during which you will see Lions, Elephants, Topis, Leopards, Bush bucks, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kobs, among others. On the Drive to Kibale National Park you will be able to enjoy an impressive sight of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon” which you will clearly see on the road to Fort Portal. On arrival in the afternoon, you will go for Chimps trekking.

The activity begins with a briefing of the rule for trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. Along the way you will see other primates such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Phoestes, Red-Colobus and the Blue tailed and the Red-tailed monkeys swinging in the braches of this thick forest. Your guide will give you informative briefings on the lifestyles of the primates you will be coming across and on the plants as well as on the insects and butterflies in this forest

In the evening you will be transferred to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe via Kampala

After breakfast set off to return to Kampala then Entebbe International Airport to catch you’ evening flight back home with memorable experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Uganda Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY:

Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.

CLOTHING:

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration. 

HEALTH;

East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following:

The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day

Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
