Arrival and Accommodation

Upon arrival at Dubai International Airport, you are immediately greeted by the city’s impressive skyline, dominated by the iconic Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Accommodation options in Dubai range from luxurious five-star hotels to more budget-friendly options. For an opulent stay, consider booking a room at the Burj Al Arab, often touted as the world’s most luxurious hotel, or the Atlantis the Palm, located on the famous Palm Jumeirah Island.

Day 1: Exploring the City

Start your holiday with a visit to the Burj Khalifa. The “At the Top” observation deck on the 148th floor offers breathtaking views of the city and beyond. Afterward, head to The Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the world. Besides an array of high-end shops, the mall features an indoor ice rink, an aquarium, and the Dubai Fountain, which offers spectacular water shows set to music.

Day 2: Cultural Experiences

If you prefer aerial views, try a skydiving experience with Skydive Dubai, which offers breathtaking views of the Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.

Day 4: Flight to Livingstone Airport.

You’re picked up from Livingstone Airport and taken to your accommodation and check-in, freshen up and enjoy the restaurant and pool facilities before departure in the late afternoon for a sunset and dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. Includes a 3-course dinner and a complimentary glass of champagne. Cash bar for other drinks. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Lunch and dinner.

Day 6: Victoria Falls Sight-seeing.

After breakfast, make your way to the Victoria Falls National Park for a tour of the Falls. Entrance fee payable at the gate. In summer, you’ll be given raincoats to keep dry from the spray that comes off the cascading water. After the tour, the rest of the day is free to explore the town of Victoria Falls and enjoy the many activities that Victoria Falls is famous for.

Meal Plan: Lunch and dinner.

Day 7: Fly to Uganda.

After breakfast, you will have a quick stroll around town, visiting the traditional craft markets and doing some last-minute shopping. Be ready to depart mid-morning for Victoria Falls Airport to catch your scheduled flight to Uganda Entebbe Airport in particular.

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will transfer to your accommodation and Check-in, freshen up, and have lunch at your hotel. In evening you will have a boat cruise along lake Bunyonyi and later return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi.

After breakfast, your diver guide will meet you, greet and brief you about the trip and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Upon arrival, you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the Gorilla adventure. Grab your walking stick, drinking water and enter the Impenetrable Forest in search for Mountain Gorillas. You will be guided by knowledgeable rangers who share detailed information on Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and primate life. Meet the gentle giants and watch them as they interact, take photos and later return to the lodge.

No doubt, the time spent with the Gorillas is an unforgettable experience. Look out for other animals and forest birds including African green pigeon, African harrier hawk, Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, crowned hornbill and Giant kingfisher after you will receive your trekking certificate.

Day 9: Departure Flight 

The day begins with a delightful breakfast after which you will return to the mainland and begin the journey back to Entebbe. You will see stunning views Kabale’s terraced hills on a clear day and a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe. Arrive in Entebbe in the afternoon and have a farewell flight back home.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All visitors to Africa must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. The Government of Tanzania has rolled out an online Visa application portal accessible on internet.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Respective Embassy or Consulate.

TIME: GMT +3

CLIMATE: Africa climate is predominantly tropical.  The long rains are from mid-March to late May and the short rains from November to January.  The hottest months are from October to February and the coolest months are June to August.

VOLTAGE: 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the National Grid in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency. However, US$ older than 2009 are only accepted

CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.

HEALTH: Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray. The hotels provide mosquito repellent sachets as part of the room’s amenities in all our locations.

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure Imbasa is notified prior to travel so that the respective Hotels and Lodges are informed
