8 Days Dinka South Sudan Overview

On this 8 Days Dinka South Sudan Tour expect to meet some of  Africa’s most indigenous people of Mundari and Dinka. The Mundari  a cattle herding tribe living remotely along the White Nile river, north of South Sudan’s capital Juba. Their vast herds of sacred cattle graze on fertile river land, with the Mundari living mainly off the milk, not the meat. Wrestling and playing music are popular Mundari pastimes, and each morning they massage their cows with ash, a technique used to keep flies and insects away.

8 Days Dinka South Sudan

The Dinka Tribe and Mundari Tribe are one of the populous of South Sudan’s tribes. The majority of Dinka and Mundari are still nomadic pastoralists and their cattle camps, which often contain 1000s head or more of cattle, offer a fascinating insight into their traditional way of life. Much of South Sudan’s culture and history is derived from the importance of cattle: they’re the principal source of wealth and prestige, and, when pastures are scarce, the reason for so much conflict.
