9 Days Botswana Luxury Safari

Day 1: Arrive in Maun and Fly to Moremi Game Reserve

This morning you will arrive in to Maun Airport where you will be met and assisted through to your light aircraft flight to Moremi Game Reserve. You will be met at the airstrip on arrival in Moremi and transferred by boat to your camp where you will be shown to your luxury tented accommodation.

After refreshments, you will plan your personal adventure together with experienced guides who have spent their lives accumulating knowledge and an understanding of the complex ecosystem of the Okavango Delta. You will set out with your guide in a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) and explore the islands on foot.

Together, as you silently observe nature with minimal impact, you will begin to realise the privilege and quiet excitement of being in the magical Okavango Delta.

Day 2-3: Safari Activities in Moremi Game Reserve

You have two full days to enjoy your safari activities (included) at Okuti Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve.

Chief’s Island in the Moremi Game Reserve has one of the largest remaining populations of African wildlife in the delta area. Sightings may include lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, the elusive wild dog, hippo, crocodile and a variety of plains game from zebra to lechwe. Okuti Camp is also a birder’s paradise, with over 240 species including the rare Pel’s fishing owl and endangered wattled crane.

In the evenings as you relax in the main lodge, reflections of treasured memories are cast in the glow of a spectacular sunset. The newly refurbished main lodge boasts a welcoming and comfortable bar where guests can enjoy a drink while watching the African sun set over the Okavango.

Day 4: Fly to Kanana Camp

You will leave the Moremi area today as you fly on to the Kanana Camp, east of the Okavango Delta. You will be met on arrival and are driven to the camp where you will stay for the following 3 nights on an all-inclusive basis.

Kanana Camp is a hidden jewel set on the Xudum River in the southwest Okavango. At this Camp, you’ll only need to sit on the main deck for a short while to see a variety of animals wander by. Full en-suite bathrooms and spacious interiors make it very comfortable. The tents are well spaced apart to give privacy and a real experience of the African bush.

Day 5-6: Safari Activities in the Okavango Delta

You have two full days on safari in the at Kanana Camp. There is a flexible mix of water and land-based activities depending on the rising and falling water levels of the Okavango Delta.

On this private concession a professional guide will assist you in planning you’re activities over the next two days to give you a truly unique experience. Kanana offers a sleep-out experience, game drives, mokoro boat tours and guided walks.

This camp is set within some of Botswana’s most biodiverse land, and is home to one of the highest concentrations of Wildlife in Africa, making it a haven for photographers.

Day 7: Fly to Dinaka

You’ll leave Kanana Camp behind today as you fly to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. You will be met on arrival and driven to Dinaka Lodge where you’ll stay for 2 nights on an all-inclusive basis.

Dinaka hosts seven spacious camps where you will be accommodated in twin and double-bedded safari tents, each with an en-suit bathroom and raised up wooden deck. There is also an opportunity to experience the Sleep Out Deck where you can spend the night under the vast star-studded African Sky.

This ever-changing desert landscape allows you to spot the Kalahari lion, springbok, oryx, giraffe and brown hyena.

Day 8: Safari Activities with Dinaka

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS TOUR :

On this 9 Days Botswana Luxury Safari, all visitors must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Botswana Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the government in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.

HEALTH;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
