Dubai (Day 1-3):

Uganda (Day 4-7):

  • Day 4: Fly to Entebbe, transfer to Kampala or Entebbe for overnight stay.
  • Day 5: Trek mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Day 6: Game drive and boat safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
  • Day 7: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, then depart from Entebbe.

Day 1-3: Dubai

Day 1: Arrival in Dubai Upon arrival in Dubai, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Downtown Dubai, known for its luxury accommodations and proximity to major attractions. Take some time to settle in and relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you might explore nearby sights such as the Dubai Mall or take a leisurely stroll around the vibrant Downtown area.

Day 2: Dubai City Tour Begin your day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Ascend to the observation decks for panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline and the surrounding desert. Afterward, head to Dubai Mall, where you can explore its vast array of shops and attractions, including the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Dubai Fountain show, a captivating display of water, light, and music set against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa.

Day 3: Desert Safari Experience the thrill of Dubai’s desert on a safari adventure. After a morning at leisure, embark on a desert safari excursion. Hold on tight for an exhilarating dune bashing ride in a 4×4 vehicle across the golden sands. Stop at a Bedouin-style camp where you can enjoy camel riding, sandboarding, and a traditional BBQ dinner under the stars. Immerse yourself in Emirati culture with live entertainment including belly dancing and henna painting before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 4-7: Uganda

Day 4: Dubai to Entebbe, Uganda Depart Dubai for Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, where you can rest and acclimate to your new surroundings. Enjoy the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring local markets or sampling Ugandan cuisine.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Early in the morning, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its population of mountain gorillas. Receive a briefing from park rangers before embarking on a gorilla trekking expedition through dense rainforest terrain. Spend a magical hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, an experience that promises to be the highlight of your trip. Return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Embark on a morning game drive across the savannah plains, where you may encounter elephants, lions, buffalo, and numerous antelope species. In the afternoon, cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Keep an eye out for hippos, crocodiles, and an array of birdlife congregating along the banks. After a full day of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodations.

Day 7: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Departure On your final day in Uganda, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Join a guided walking safari to observe southern white rhinos in their protected habitat and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. Afterward, transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, concluding your journey with unforgettable memories of Dubai’s urban splendor and Uganda’s pristine natural wonders.

Tips for Your Journey:

Ensure you have obtained all necessary visas and vaccinations for both Dubai and Uganda before your departure. Pack light, breathable clothing suitable for both warm desert and cooler jungle climates, along with sturdy footwear for trekking. Embrace each destination’s unique culture and environment, and be prepared for an enriching travel experience that seamlessly blends luxury, adventure, and wildlife encounters.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All visitors to Africa must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. The Government of Tanzania has rolled out an online Visa application portal accessible on internet.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler.  For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Respective Embassy or Consulate.

TIME: GMT +3

CLIMATE: East Africa climate is predominantly tropical.  The long rains are from mid-March to late May and the short rains from November to January.  The hottest months are from October to February and the coolest months are June to August.

VOLTAGE: 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the National Grid in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY: Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency. However, US$ older than 2009 are only accepted

CLOTHING: Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE: Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER: You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.

HEALTH: East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray. The hotels provide mosquito repellent sachets as part of the room’s amenities in all our locations.

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: For those guests with specific dietary requirement, please ensure Imbasa is notified prior to travel so that the respective Hotels and Lodges are informed

GRATUITIES: As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following:

The General Hotel/Lodge/Camp Staff – Approximately U$ 10.00 per person per day

Driver Guides – Approximately US$ 15.00 to US$ 20.00 per person per day

PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
