This 3 Days Self-Drive Safari to Murchison Falls involves visiting Murchison Falls National Park, with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the endangered rhinos. After the tracking, later proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and head straight to view the top of the falls. The following day will kick start with an early morning game drive in the park and later head for the boat cruise on the Nile.

Day 1: Kampala>Murchison Falls National Park.
Your safari guide will pick you up from the hotel after breakfast, brief you about the safari, and embark on your journey, passing through Luwero as the guide narrates to you the story of the liberation wars in Luwero and how it led to the rise of the current Ugandan government. On arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls for a brief experience and photography. After this experience, you will drive to the lodge for check-in and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.
Arise early in the morning, have breakfast, and head for an early morning game drive in the savannah in search of wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, elephants, kobs, lelwel’s hartebeests, warthogs, and many more and birds like Black-headed Lapwing, Blue-headed Coucal, Giant kingfisher, Swamp flycatcher, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Red-throated bee-eater, Black-billed barbet, Denham’s bustard and others. The game drive is conducted preferably in the northern sector.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and transfer to the boat docking site for another thrilling activity (boat cruise on the Nile). The launch cruise will grant you an eccentric view of the Nile, amidst the encounter of the huge Nile crocodiles, hippos, and several other wildlife and birds’ species on the shores. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Twiga’s accommodation is a blend of safari camping tents and thatched African cottages. Its 8 private cottages are located on the bank of the river Nile in Mubaako Paraa, opposite to the Murchison Falls National Park. Twiga is a five-minute drive from the ferry crossing to Murchison.
The lodge has a great view of the treasures of Murchison. Monkeys, birds, and even grazing hippos are frequently seen around the grounds of the lodge. In addition to offering free high-speed Wi-Fi and parking, the lodge has its own restaurant, bar, and gift shop. The service is exceptional, and the lodge has a relaxed ambience.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park>Kampala.
Get up in the morning to a relaxed breakfast, winding up your safari. Check out of your lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe via Karuma falls and Karuma forest reserve, arriving in time for lunch. After your lunch, optional drop off at your hotel or at the airport for your flight.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
All visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler. For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Uganda Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY:
Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER:
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:
Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray
Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

As a guideline and dependent on how happy you are, we would suggest the following:

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform. Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages. If in doubt, please check with your guide.
